Off-duty officer arrests man

Police arrested James Quillen, 21, Southwind, after he allegedly attempted to run over an off-duty officer and a second person in the parking lot of Morris Estates Sunday afternoon.
Officer Clayton Sumner identified himself as an officer and after a struggle to the ground, arrested Quillen, Hopkinsville Police said. While waiting for a police car to take Quillen, the suspect broke away from Sumner and ran, but was caught and taken to jail. Quillen was charged with a DUI, two counts of wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, escape and fleeing and evading arrest. |
