Your whole life you have believed that you understand time and how it works. You believe that there are twenty four hours in a day, sixty minutes in an hour, and sixty seconds in a minute. But if you think about it, that is wrong. Here’s how. There are actually three hundred sixty and one fourth days in a year. We just keep this fourth on the side until we have four of them to make an extra day. A.K.A. Leap Year. So by knowing this, we can now break down our time as follows:
You think: But actually:
365 days in a year 365.24 days in a year
24 hours in a day 24.01578 hours in a day
60 minutes in an hour 60.03945 minutes in an hour
60 seconds in a minute 60.03945 seconds in a minutes
As I have clearly shown…..there are more than sixty seconds in a minute. Go me! (Hopkinsville closes at ten...what else am I suppose to do? This was my goal for the day. Not sure if it's right. Feel free to let me know if I'm wrong. I've been wrong before.....but just once....ok...maybe twice)

On occasion, I get a chance to talk to some of the kids in my area, and some of the things they tell me do not bode well for their safety. I ask them where they live, and they say, "Over There", or, "In the brown house", or ,"down that way". They don't seem to know their street names or their house numbers. Today's parents seem to be worried about kidnappers and perverts, but do not seem to be taking the time to teach their kids their addresses and phone numbers- information that would help the police to return them to their houses! Parents, wake up. Teach your kids to memorize their house numbers, streets, and phone numbers, so that in the event of the worst, they'll at least be able to tell the cops where they live- and where you are! This was something that our parents taught us almost immediately, back in the days. They made sure that we knew where we lived- and we could tell somebody if we ever got lost!

The day before the Kentucky Derby, O.J. Simpson was kicked out of a restaurant by the owner because the owner was sickened by O.J.’s “past”. (You can read the article here: http://news.aol.com/topnews/articles/_a/owner-boots-oj-simpson-from-restaurant/20070509092009990001) As much as I want to understand the owner’s actions and say this was justified, don’t we have to have respect for our justice system? I know it’s not always just…..or anything even resembling fair. If we no longer believe in our legal system what will that do to our community…our country…our civilization?
Some people say it’s still a race thing with O.J. Simpson. A lot of people say there is no way because they are not racist. If you would like to know if you are subconsciously racist there is a test you can take. Here is the link for that:
https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/
Harvard spent a lot of time making this test; the least you could do is take it. It’s really easy all you have to do is press two keys. I’m not sure if it works for everyone but it was spot on with me. (Just to save you some time….if you take the test and you don’t agree with the results and you decide to take it again….you will get the same results.)

Maybe there is a God…He started out with just Adam and Eve. So answering prayers was pretty easy. Since then we have reproducing by the billions. Maybe God just wasn’t prepared. He’s got prayer waiting and it takes him a while to check his messages. I remember after my mom used to beat me I would go up to my room and pray to God for hours….”Oh God if you are real and you can hear me, please kill that woman. Please God! Amen!” God just hasn’t gotten around to my prayer yet.
“Thank you God for calling your prayer mail. You currently have 364,983,618,903,837 unanswered prayers. First unanswered prayer prayed on March 5th 1984 at six thirty five pm….. ‘Hey God, it’s me again…..please kill her!!!!” To answer this prayer press one, to replay this prayer press four, to delete this prayer press seven……this prayer will be saved for thirty days’”
It’s not that God doesn’t answer our prayers…it just takes him a while to get to them. And I’m sure he gets the same prayers from some people over and over and that gets on his Holy Nerves so he probably has prayer ID and screens his prayers. Wonder what ring tone he has…..probably Elvis!
P.S.
I’m not mad at her now God….I was….but not now….thank you for ignoring that.

Since I have moved to Hopkinsville, I have noticed on posts, forums, and conversations with folks about the town that a lot of folks here seem to be mad about something. I do not know if it's a, "Kentucky", thing, as I have never lived here before, or if it's a fallout from the current American Condition. Everybody seems to have a gripe; the schools are trash, the politicians are thieves, the kids are, "gangstas", the parents are druggies, and so forth. I would like to propose a solution.
Whenever you get mad at something that is out of your control, try to remember this: God did NOT promise you tomorrow. There is no guarantee that you're gonna wake up day after day, so why spend your time on Earth being mad? If you are doing what you HAVE to do, instead of what you WANT to do, then you don't have TIME to worry about the bad things that upset you.
Most of us have decent lives; we are still doing better than 9/10ths of the rest of the world. There are whole families on this planet that sleep on a 16x12 inch square of pavement- and you're crying about $3.00/gal gas? When we have always paid less than practically everywhere else on this Earth for gas since we started driving?
There are a lot of folks here that profess a belief in God- then you need to start acting on that belief! If you trust God to make it better, then trust him!

I was very disappointed with the service I received at the McDonalds last night. I work nights and I stopped by my local McDonalds to pick a quick bite to eat. When I pulled up I looked at all the pictures there and decided that I wanted a fish sandwich, which as you know is the number twelve. When I got up to the speaker to order I accidentally said number two. Then after I drove off I realized that they had given me a number two. I can't believe that they gave me what I asked for and not what I was thinking I wanted. With terrible service like that I don't see how those guys are still in business.

I would very much like to visit Hopkinsville this summer. Has the GANG info been posted so everyone would know the rules? I would hate to wear the wrong color in the wrong area and end up a statistic in the KNE, which only the paying subscribers would see. Someone please help a tourist to arrive and depart safely. thank you.

I can understand threatening people a thousand years ago to follow the law or they will go to some terrible place….but now that we are more educated and civilized, how can people still be religious? Christians are the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen. They believe a man walked on water, died….lol…and then came back to life? Are you serious? They believe that Jesus is returning but every time someone says they are Jesus the government either arrests them or kills them. They believe that God gives people cancer…but when someone miraculously cures them of it….they promote them to Saint. So if someone undoes what God did…they get rewarded for it. Moses talked to a burning bush and believed it was God. I would have loved to be there when he walked back into his tent and told his buddies this.
“Hey guys, I just ran into God…and he was a bush…that was on fire!”
“Sure it was Mo….I think you’ve been smokin’ some bush, now take out the trash!”
We try to tell our children that the stuff that they see on tv and in movies is just make believe but at the same time some people teach their children the most unbelievable story ever. If we are going to believe in Heaven and Hell…let’s just say that Peter Pan is real and if children don’t listen to their parents Captain Hook is going to come into their room and kill them with his hook. No, we wouldn’t want to do this because it will scare them…but at the same time it is ok to tell them that if they lie they will go to Hell and their little bodies will burn forever! And what’s worse, they won’t be alone, the Devil with the flames coming out of his eyes will poke them with a pitch fork of all things. I do believe that some people really truly believe that there is a God. I think they can believe this for a few reasons. One, maybe they have lost all hope and this “god” is all they have to turn too. Maybe they are scared of death and want to believe that there has to be something more. Basically, most people believe this because of the brainwashing they were submitted to in Sunday school and Bible Study and even “lessons” at home. Let’s look at the similarities in Church and brain washing camps:
They both:
-use repetition (and sometimes chanting or singing songs)
-try to take up as much of your time with activities and function so that you no longer have a life outside of what they want
-use guilt as a way to get your “devotion” to the cause….or your money
-promise a big reward
-punishment for wrong doing…AKA. Hell
-urge you to believe that any belief other then what they are “pushing” is wrong
If you know someone who has been brainwashed into believing all these ridiculous stories from the Bible are true, it is useless to try to help them. Even after the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians proved the world was round, the “church” still convinced them it was flat. Sometimes the brain washing is so deep that they have already drowned in it. Just be glad that they are convinced that killing, robbing, or messing with your wife is so wrong that they will burn for eternity if they ever attempt it. What ever makes someone not want to kill me…I’m all for it. Go Jesus!
