Simmons alleges discrimination

Ex-health director says early retirement forced

BY Joe Parrin, NEW ERA STAFF WRITER

The former director of the Christian County Health Department has filed a discrimination complaint that alleges her early exit was “forced” by racial, age and gender bias.

Anita Simmons retired as department head last May with little comment. Simmons was expected to retire later in August.

Another "it's cuz I'm black". No, it's "cuz you wasn't doing your job". Shame on you for throwing the race card in there. Forced to retire? They hold a gun to your head? If you'd been doing your job, they'd have begged you to stay instead of letting you leave. Move on.

Next she'll be suing the city for mental anguish.

It wasn't just the racial card it was every card she could get her old, wrinkled, girly, hands on. Obviously she wasn't doing to good a job because I didn't even know Christian County had a Health Department. Being fairly new to the area it's always nice to know where that stuff is at and I still don't know.

It might be because she wasn't doing her job; I wouldn't know. But I do know this- I have been in Hopkinsville for over a year, with a Bachelors' of Social Work degree, a Kentucky Social Work license, and a Statewide Notary Public commission, and enough credentials to stuff a sack- and am working as a security guard. Go figure.
