Hopkinsville Speedway

I was wondering if anyone else has had the feeling lately that 41A between Hopkinsville and Oak Grove has turned into a racetrack and no one told us?  I am not talking about being a few over the speed limit I am talking about people doing 80mph and better on the road.  I drive the road twice a day to school and the stretch between I-24 and Hopkinsville is the most dangerous.  I was talking with a group of people, asking them the same question and they have also felt like it has increased recently.  Speeding has been bad, but lately it seems to have gotten worse.  We all agree that between the hours of 5pm and 7pm seem to be the worst speeding times.  I have personally seen Oak Grove police monitoring 41A on their side of the the interstate bridge and they have slowed a ton of their traffic down.

That's about the time that I would drive to work when I was in the military. If you think they are going fast on that road you should see what Lafayette looks like. That is the secret way for people to drive to work fast. I would be on that road doing at least 100mph and get passed all the time.

100 miles per? With a 4 year old at home? I'm gonna tell your Daddy on you! You musta been a Lieutenant in the Army, because they're the only ranks that have no sense!(LOL) By the way, there's a stretch of Interstate in New Orleans (610) that my friends call the, "Harris highway". There's a good reason for that. If you've seen my pictures, you know why....but I have, in the past, been guilty of Trans-Einsteinean speeds (or is it trans-relativistic?) on said highway. I once took a 69 Charger R/T from New Orleans to Houston in 3 hrs, 55 minutes- (and that included a stop for gas!) but that was back in the days (late 70s) when the cops would just smack your behind, send you home, and call your parents if they caught you!

well 41A between hptown and oak grove is horrible .I bet there are maybe 20% where follow the speed on that rd .. no lie I take it every day and get pasted all the time by ppl going well over the speed .. and yes 107 is the same way but thats a back county rd .. or you can come sit in my drive way on west 15th and watch ppl to 50 miles per hr or better in a 25 but does any one care NOPE!! Just some of us who live on taht street do but no law does ...
