Got something on your mind, talk about anything!
Kids and Addresses!

On occasion, I get a chance to talk to some of the kids in my area, and some of the things they tell me do not bode well for their safety. I ask them where they live, and they say, "Over There", or, "In the brown house", or ,"down that way".  They don't seem to know their street names or their house numbers. Today's parents seem to be worried about kidnappers and perverts, but do not seem to be taking the time to teach their kids their addresses and phone numbers- information that would help the police to return them to their houses! Parents, wake up. Teach your kids to memorize their house numbers, streets, and phone numbers, so that in the event of the worst, they'll at least be able to tell the cops where they live- and where you are! This was something that our parents taught us almost immediately, back in the days. They made sure that we knew where we lived- and we could tell somebody if we ever got lost!

That is really sad. We are not living in the same world that we grew up in. I don't think that is a good thing.

That's a good point. Even my cat, Precious, has a tag with her name and address on it. Somehow I'm sure someone would call the state on me if I tried to put a tag on my son. I think something else that is pretty interesting is when I take him to Chuck E Cheese they always stamp our hand when we go in. I understand the concept that when we leave our numbers are suppose to match to prove that I brought him in with me.....but....if I wash my hands while I'm there and I don't have a stamp on, they look and just let me take him anyway. What is the point of that?

You have a cat?

I want a cat, I'm just not quite ready for one, yet. It broke my heart to have to leave my 3 behind when I moved here, but they just flat-out disappeared! I called, and called them, but they just never came! And my two dogs took off, too!

Yes Sun I have a cat. Is that so hard to believe? How could someone as terrible and evil as me care for another creature...is that what you're saying? Just kidding, yes, I have a cat. She's adorable...now that she's been fixed. I didn't know that getting them fixed could solve so many problems. She doesn't scratch up the couch, windows, doors, or pee on the floor anymore. She really is Precious now!

I would strongly advise anyone who takes care of pets, to spay and neuter. You could write a blog about it.

I never saw it being that important until I had to take the first batch of kittens to the shelter. I'm 28 but I cried the whole way there listening to them scream for their mother...or because they didn't like the large box they were in....and then cried the whole way home too.
