Time Refined

Your whole life you have believed that you understand time and how it works. You believe that there are twenty four hours in a day, sixty minutes in an hour, and sixty seconds in a minute. But if you think about it, that is wrong. Here’s how. There are actually three hundred sixty and one fourth days in a year. We just keep this fourth on the side until we have four of them to make an extra day. A.K.A. Leap Year. So by knowing this, we can now break down our time as follows:

You think:                        But actually:

365 days in a year                  365.24 days in a year

24 hours in a day                   24.01578 hours in a day

60 minutes in an hour            60.03945 minutes in an hour

60 seconds in a minute         60.03945 seconds in a minutes

As I have clearly shown…..there are more than sixty seconds in a minute. Go me!  (Hopkinsville closes at ten...what else am I suppose to do?  This was my goal for the day.  Not sure if it's right.  Feel free to let me know if I'm wrong.  I've been wrong before.....but just once....ok...maybe twice)

All I know is, that when someone says to me, they don't have time to do something. I tell them "you have the same amount of time that I do."

I know all about excuses. I was in the Army for nine years. I think my favorite was when people told me they were late because of traffic. I would just ask them "how do you think I got here?" I drove on the same road they did....i made it!
