Got something on your mind, talk about anything!
Why is everybody so Mad?
Posted by: Charles Harris on May 9, 2007 at 1:25AM EST

Since I have moved to Hopkinsville, I have noticed on posts, forums, and conversations with folks about the town that a lot of folks here seem to be mad about something. I do not know if it's a, "Kentucky", thing, as I have never lived here before, or if it's a fallout from the current American Condition. Everybody seems to have a gripe; the schools are trash, the politicians are thieves, the kids are, "gangstas", the parents are druggies, and so forth. I would like to propose a solution.

Whenever you get mad at something that is out of your control, try to remember this: God did NOT promise you tomorrow. There is no guarantee that you're gonna wake up day after day, so why spend your time on Earth being mad?  If you are doing what you HAVE to do, instead of what you WANT to do, then you don't have TIME to worry about the bad things that upset you.

Most of us have decent lives; we are still doing better than 9/10ths of the rest of the world. There are whole families on this planet that sleep on a 16x12 inch square of pavement- and you're crying about $3.00/gal gas? When we have always paid less than practically everywhere else on this Earth for gas since we started driving?

There are a lot of folks here that profess a belief in God- then you need to start acting on that belief! If you trust God to make it better, then trust him!

I am mad because there are people like you that refuse to believe that Jesus died on the cross and then came back so you can sin sin sin all you want and still make it into the glorious gated community which is Heaven. I don't know why people keep putting all this propaganda on here. Now you better watch out before "Sick of It" gets on here and gives you a religious pamphlet to throw away. I really don’t think religion would be so bad if there weren’t all the people on tv killing it. Buy this miracle water…buy this holy cloth…buy this buy that buy this….and if you do, you will receive a check from God for up to $450,000….they probably gave that poor woman ten bucks to say that. Now you kids play nice on this blog! Now if I can just pass this eye exam this comment will be up.......

Silvia: I am running a 4 bedroom house, raising a teenager, (and some of his friends!), and running two cars, on $5.85/hr. I admit it's close every month, but when you do what you HAVE to do, before you do what you WANT to do, things work out! I know that one day, I will get a better job; in the meantime, why should I get mad? People don't want to wait for anything anymore, they want it NOW- and this world does not work that way!

People ask me how I am, I say, "excellent". It is true that "we" could complian, but I don't see the point. This is not my home, I am just passing through. Store your treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not corrupt.

I was going to store my stuff in Heaven but the Holy U-Haul never showed up! I assume from your comment that moth's don't go to Heaven? Poor moths!

That is pretty funny. I hope mosquitos don't go to heaven either.

See Sun Shine....this is why we I like you...even though we have different beliefs, we can still joke and get along. If only all the other violent people on here could be as cool as us.

silvia: I have 2 INSURED vehicles, and a beautiful home with a white picket fence! I also just looked at one of my pay stubs, and it says $5.85/hr.....I did not say that things were going "right", I said that they were working out. I don't have any surplus money for things like the water park (LOL), or the newest and latest video games for my son. And since nobody drives my cars but me, I always drive the most fuel-efficient one, and not all over the town, either. As I said, I do what I HAVE to do, instead of what I WANT to do!

Just get a credit card...then you don't have to worry about anything. I know that my great great great grandkids will still be paying off my tv...and they won't even want it by then.
