ELKTON, Ky. — Ashley Westerman saved one of her best games for Senior Night, but it wasn’t enough for the host Todd County Central Lady Rebels, who dropped a 2-1 District 11 volleyball game to Franklin-Simpson Thursday.
Westerman finished her home career with a 12-kill, four-dig, seven-ace game, but Todd came up short 20-25, 25-19, 25-16.
Madison Wheeler had 10 kills and senior Melanie Young added six kills, three digs and two aces.
Samantha Blake and Nicole Aikens each added seven digs and Jessica Marchetti had four digs and two aces for the Lady Rebels (8-18, 1-5).
In the JV game, Todd defeated Franklin-Simpson 21-19, 21-17 behind the play of Brook Garrett, who had six aces, three kills and a dig.
Crickett Burnett had two kills and an ace for Todd.
Cline powers Heritage Christian JV on to victory
GLASGOW, Ky. — Caitlin Cline served 11 straight points to rally visiting Heritage Christian to a victory over Glasgow Christian Thursday night in a JV volleyball match.
The Lady Warriors (17-2) trailed 8-18 until Cline served HCA into a 19-18 lead. HCA went on to win the first game 21-19. It followed that up with a 21-14 win to sweep the match.
Alden Gray had four aces and 11 kills.
Their next match is Saturday against the Holy Angels of Louisville.
